Rosh Chodesh group for Women

We are excited to launch Kavana's first ever Rosh Chodesh group for women!

Our group will focus on building an intimate atmosphere to explore our personal Jewish identities and experiences as modern Jewish women of diverse observance and practices, lifestyles and backgrounds.  This will be an open environment where questions are encouraged -- about Judaism, Torah, spirituality, and life itself!

We'll attempt to create an intimate setting for these conversations (think: sitting around a living room with a fire in the fireplace and a glass of wine in hand).  The rest will be up to us!  Open your heart and mind to a new Jewish experience that we get to create and mold ourselves, as we build new relationships and learn from one another.

Dates: Kavana's Rosh Chodesh group will meet once a month.  As you can see below, we've tried to keep the dates pretty well tied to the Hebrew calendar, where Rosh Chodesh is the beginning of the new Hebrew month (literally, the new moon), while also keeping our night of the week consistent:

- Monday, January 23rd (28 Tevet/ celebrating Rosh Chodesh Shevat)
- Monday, February 27th (4 Adar)
- Monday, March 26th (3 Nissan)
- Monday, April 23rd (1 Iyar)
- Monday, May 21st  (29 Iyar)
- Monday, June 25th (5 Tammuz)
- Monday, July 23rd (4 Av)
- Monday, August 20th (2 Elul)
- Monday, September 24th (8 Tishrei)

Location: We're planning to meet in a home in Ballard for the first few months (thanks, Marie, for offering to host!), and after that we may rotate locations among group members' homes. Email us to join the Rosh Chodesh list, and you'll receive a reminder each month with location details and more.

Time: 7-9pm

Is this for me?: We're hoping to create a nice sense of community in this women's group, and we value diversity.  So, whatever your Jewish background, your questions, your age or life stage, please consider joining us.

RSVP: Interested in joining the group?  Come check it out!  Email us and we'll add you to our email list and send you the info for the current session.

Shout outs: A big thank you goes out to Kavana partner Marie P. for providing the start-up energy to get this women's group off the ground!
