Winter Parenting Salon: Confronting the Dark Side of Jewish History with Your Kids

This winter/spring, Kavana's Middle School Program will be exploring the Holocaust.  This will be our community's first foray into introducing children to the Holocaust, anti-Semitism, and the "dark" side of the Jewish experience -- topics that many of us would probably rather avoid altogether.  In this four-part series, Kavana parents will have the opportunity to reflect on how we as parents can support children in ways that are developmentally appropriate, aligned with our own values, and support the learning outcomes we want to see for our children.  We're hoping to bring in a variety of experts around parenting, education and the Holocaust to support our conversations, while also providing time for us to talk with one another and create a supportive peer community of parents.  While our conversations will focus on upper elementary and middle school-aged children, all are welcome.
