Help Kavana Make Its Match!
It's hard to believe that we only started a year and a half ago! We are well on our way to our vision of creating an open and intimate community in which people lead intentional Jewish lives. As you know, Kavana is a new model for Jewish community that has experienced tremendous early success in reaching people whose needs are not being met by traditional institutions. Your support is essential to getting Kavana off an running.

In recognition of our start-up nature, our early success and our innovative approach, Kavana just received a $40,000 matching grant from the Natan Fund (www.natan.org) in New York City. Specifically, this prestigious grant is given to those organizations who are small, innovative and, ideally, doing things that are replicable and changing the face of Jewish life today. As a matching grant, they are providing a 1:1 match for all incremental or new contributions of any size. With this in mind, we're asking you to consider making either a new or incremental contribution. This could be in the form of an increase to your previous contribution or in a new contribution altogether.

Also note: While Natan will not match corporate matching dollars - we can still accept and will greatly appreciate your corporate matching dollars. SO - if you give $500 and work for a company that will match your donations, you will be giving Kavana the equivalent of $1500 - your gift for $500, the Natan $500 match and your corporate $500 match. (and, yes, Kavana typically qualifies for matching funds from most companies)

Siddurim (prayerbooks) and Chumashim (Hebrew Bibles - the Five Books of Moses - used on Shabbat to read the weekly Torah portion)
