Sukkot Farm Trip

On Sukkot, sometimes referred to as Chag Ha'Asif, the Festival of the Ingathering (harvesting), we give thanks for a bountiful harvest. To celebrate the harvest here in the Northwest Kavana-style please join us at Oxbow Farm for a farm work day. If there is enough produce available there is the possibility of doing some gleaning - harvesting excess produce to donate to a local food bank.

Date:  Sun. Oct. 4
Time:  1 - 3pm
Please bring: a picnic lunch, a blanket to sit on, work gloves, plenty of water and sun screen.

Take Highway 520 East until it ends, keeping left for Avondale Road. After a mile or so, veer right on Novelty Hill Road. At the end of Novelty Hill Road, turn left on West Snoqualmie Valley Road, then quick right on 124th. At the stop sign, turn right onto Hwy 203 (heading toward Carnation).

Now for the fun part! After a half mile or so you'll pass a red barn on your left. Looking straight ahead at this point you'll see the road bends to the left; a guardrail begins at this point on the right side of the road. Look for a gravel road on the right with a big black mailbox (10819) and an orange triangle reflector; turn right onto this road and follow along the lake to the gardens and greenhouse.

Here's a map.
