Ruach Shabbat
The Kavana Cooperative and the Ravenna Kibbutz are joining forces to welcome Shabbat.
We'll have an energetic Kabbalat Shabbat prayer service (with spiritual singing), followed by a vegetarian potluck dinner (dairy/eggs are okay).
We'll teach the tunes, we'll have song sheets (with both Hebrew and transliteration). If you'd like to hear the songs in advance, we've attached mp3s to our Facebook page. (But please don't worry about whether you already know the songs, just come with an open mind and a willingness to sing.)
For the potluck - please bring a dish to share. You can bring whatever you'd like, but here are some suggestions, based on birth month:
Those born in January & February: green salad, Israeli salad, raw or roasted vegetables
March & April: beans, lentils, chickpeas, legumes: chili, curry, lentil stew, etc.
May, June, July & August: lasagna, quiche, kugel, enchiladas, etc.
September & October: couscous, tabouleh, etc.
November & December: dessert or drinks
We'll take care of challah and wine for kiddish.
The next one is ..... coming soon! Please stay tuned.
