Costs & Registration
The High Holidays are about reflecting on our lives, so it might seem odd to talk about bureaucratic things like registration, or money - are those things holy? The answer is yes - they actually are. We want to provide the best possible High Holiday experience for this community, but in order to plan ahead in a responsible manner, we need to know you're coming.
Here is the process:
Step 1: REGISTRATION
Please fill out this form.
Step 2: PAYMENT
Go to the top right of this page, click on the button, pull out your credit card ... and voila! (Note: You might actually want to pay as a first step. When you complete the registration form, you will not be automatically directed to the payment page and may have to open a new browser window.)
Believe it or not, it costs Kavana about $10,000 every year to host the High Holidays (we need to rent the space, hire additional staff, prepare materials, etc.) and we can only afford to do it if you (yes, you) chip in and help out.
We ask Kavana partners to pay $18/person (for a family of four, this would be $72).
We ask everyone else ("non-partners") to pay $180/person (for a family of four, this would be $720).
We recognize that the non-partner amount is a significant amount of money, but it reflects the real cost of our programs (we're just aiming to break even here).
Kavana partners pay less for the High Holidays because they make a substantial financial donation every year - and that money helps defray the cost of running High Holiday programs. This is the time of year to be generous and communal-minded, and we appreciate having everyone on board!
If you are facing financial hardship and are unable to pay $180/person, please go to our donations page, pay what you can, and then send us an email to let us know.
If you are in the fortunate position of being able to afford more than $180/person and would like to contribute to Kavana (and help make it possible for others to attend), please go to our donations page, pay what you can, and send us an email to let us know. We will gladly provide a tax receipt for any amount over $18/person (for non-partners) or over $180 (for non-partners).
There will be two seatings for the Erev Rosh HaShanah dinner this year (Wed. Sept 8) - one at 5:30pm, and another at 8pm. The dinners are kosher, catered, gourmet, and will have both meat and vegetarian options. It is $22/adult and $11/kid. (Note that the 5:30pm dinner is SOLD OUT.)
You can make your payment using the button and drop-down menu at the top of this page - enter the number of attendees, and repeat the process until you are ready to "check out". If you prefer to pay by check, please mail it to The Kavana Cooperative, PO Box 19666, Seattle, WA 98109.
