High Holiday Schedule

Dates for 2010/5771 are as follows:

Wed. Sept. 8, evening - Erev Rosh HaShanah

  • Dinner - Early Seating - 5:30pm (Sold Out!)
  • Services - 6:30-8pm
  • Dinner - Late Seating - 8pm (60 people max, please pay in advance)

Thurs. Sept. 9, morning - Rosh HaShanah, 1st Day

  • Services - 9am-12:30pm
    • 9-9:30am - Dawn Chanting (aka Psukei D'Zimra); Shofar-blowing in the late morning
  • Family program - 10am-12pm (one group for families with kids aged 2-6, another for kids 7-11)
  • Tashlich & bring-your-own-picnic - 1:15pm at Marshall Park & Parsons Gardens in Queen Anne
    • If it rains, forget the park - we'll do it at the same place as services

 Fri. Sept. 10, morning - Rosh HaShanah, 2nd Day

  • Services - 9am-12:30pm
    • 9-9:30am - Dawn Chanting (aka Psukei D'Zimra); Shofar-blowing in the late morning

Sat. Sept. 11, evening

  • Rebbe's Tisch (ala Jonah & Rachel) with singing, learning and l'chaims - 8:30-10:30pm (please rsvp for location)

Sun. Sept. 12, morning

  • Contemplative nature walk around the theme of "Hayom Harat Olam" (aka "today is the birthday of the world") - 10am, at Carkeek Park (meet at parking area near the playfield, by the beach - map

Fri. Sept. 17, evening - Kol Nidre, Erev Yom Kippur

  • Lighting of memorial candles in honor of deceased relatives - 6:30pm sharp
  • Max Bruch's concerto of Kol Nidre, performed on cello - 6:45pm
  • Services - 7-8:30pm

Sat. Sept. 18 - Yom Kippur

  • Services - 9:30am-1:30pm
    • 9:30-10am - Dawn Chanting (aka Psukei D'Zimra); Yizkor in the late morning
  • Family program - 10am-12pm
  • Book of Jonah study/discussion - 5pm
  • Neilah (closing) service - 6:30pm
  • Final Shofar blast - 7:59pm
  • Break fast (bagels, juice, etc.) - 8pm
